I draw many of my influences from the studio furniture movement of the mid 20th century. Craftsmen like Nakashima, Maloof, and Wharton Eschrick are at the heart of my design aesthetic. In addition to these inspirations I believe there are three important characteristics of any piece of furniture; function, quality, and beauty. My work tries to capture each of these ideals in balance. While many craftsmen focus on form and function, quality is often forgotten . Quality is important not only in construction, but also materials. Specializing in locally harvested, solid wood allows me to create pieces that stem from natural renewable resources that will stand the test of time.
